Anglo Building Services were pleased to be appointed as the main contractor on this prestigious project for Fortem Ltd, part of Willmott Dixon. We were approached to fit out the open warehouse to form a flagship training academy in the North – the brief was simple “To create a wow factor for training”.
The procedure was not so simple, but as always, working closely with the client we gave them everything and more that they required from their wish list. ABS designed and installed a new mezzanine walkway and breakout area with kitchen and canteen facilities on top and the bottom of the mezz area. We designed and installed high level gas heating with associated destratification fans to cope with the winter months. We installed the new intruder alarm and fire detection system.
We installed high efficiency LED lighting throughout comprising on High Bay lighting to the main warehouse and LED panels to the training rooms – these are ultra low glare ration to comply with current regulations for the use of computer screens, the heating is provided via digital control electric panel heaters giving total automation control 365 days a year. All power was provided all areas and to the specific items of training equipment as requested. Air conditioning was installed to the main server room and the under mezz kitchen / canteen.
New suspended ceilings and partition walls were installed to form the training rooms along with full height glazed walls. The flooring was a mix of carpet tiles and altro to compliment the overall feel. New toilet facilities were formed to cater for the increase in both staff and apprentices. Several new doors were installed and openings formed through the main fire rated spine wall with associated lintels and fire rated make up. Full painting and decorations were completed to match the existing finishes.
Overall, we feel that a stunning facility has been created and the client is delighted with the final results.
